ULVENS DÖTTRAR – three sisters from The Aaland Islands
Scandinavian Ethnic Fairytale Music
The sister trio Ulvens Döttrar (The Daughters of the Wolf) comes from the archipelago The Aaland Islands in the Baltic Sea. They grew up singing and playing together but the official group Ulvens Döttrar was established in 2001. They perform only original songs influenced by ethnic Nordic folk music and ideas from the Viking age. They are also inspired by dramatic folk rock, latin rhythms, oriental harmonies and the mystery of nature throughout the world. Ulvens Döttrar play instruments like Jew’s harp, fiddle, didgeridoo, djembe drum, rainstick and key harp. Their main instrument is their voices mostly sung in 3-part harmonies.

Ella Grüssner Cromwell-Morgan
Ella’s passion for food and wine made her chef and a sommelier with the degree WSET Diploma in Higher Wine Studies from Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London. She composes music for Ulvens Döttrar and other groups, runs her own B&B and teaches oenology at the University of Åland.
Johanna Grüssner
Johanna has gratuated from Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music and works as a professional jazz vocalist, choral conductor, music producer and vocal instructor. She has released around ten solo albums outside of Ulvens Döttrar
Isabella Grüssner-Sarling
Isabella has a master of education from Åbo Akademi University, specialized in music and Swedish. She freelances as a cultural worker mostly hired as a director for plays and as a writer. She writes lyrics for Ulvens Döttrar and other music groups.
